Order Objects in Branch

Actualizado: 1 may 2023

The most important thing for BlockSurfaces is to have the correct names for all objects.

The main and most common problem you may have when working with the BlockSurfaces add-on is not having a proper order for the objects in the branch. The generation of the BlockSurfaces surface is based on the alphabetical order in which the objects in the collection are arranged. Therefore, if there are gaps between the names or strange names that do not correspond to the structure provided by the add-on, this will cause unpredictable behavior in the generation of new objects within the collection, and the surface will be generated in a difficult-to-control manner.

Just keep proper order in the objects, creating and deleting them using the add-on's tools. If you want to manually name an object to fix a gap, make sure to use the same structure of names given by the add-on. When possible, use the tools provided by the add-on to rename and reorder the objects in the branch, so you will have a proper structure again.

Also, the BlockSurfaces object must have the correct name given by the add-on, as well as the collection associated with it.

The name of the created collections is related to the BlockSurfaces object that generates the final surface, so you should never change the structure of the names given by the add-on in any case, or change the way of naming objects within the collection, or change the name of the collection, or change the object that generates the BlockSurfaces surface.

In summary, always use the add-on's tools to change the names of the entire structure and maintain proper functioning of the add-on.
